Manning played in just one game for the Giants but did participate in three earlier this year with the Chicago Bears. He hurt his ankle against Jacksonville. The Giants have now placed 20 players on injured reserve. To fill the vacated roster spots, New York signed veteran running back Chris Ogbonnaya and promoted three players from its practice squad. NFL rules prohibit the Giants from filling Mannings spot on the roster for three weeks. Their three promotions from the practice squad are offensive lineman Eric Herman, defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton and linebacker James Davidson.
